Inlight Beauty: Makeup Remover, Face Tonic and Face Oil Reviews

My friend Samantha Sargent, the founder of green beauty store Be Naturally You, introduced me to Inlight just over a month ago. She is super selective about the brands she curates, and Inlight is no exception. This super niche brand from the UK, created by renowned skin expert Dr Mariano Spiezia, uses 100% organic ingredients to create some of the purest products available. Most of their products are water-free, and features the patented ‘Bio Lipophilic Matrix®, a specific blend of pure organic, cold-pressed plant oils carefully nurtured for their high biochemical affinity to the lipidic human skin layer.’
Recently, Inlight went through a rebrand, and the look and packaging of the products are now as luxurious as the formulas inside. Here are my brief reviews of three of their products (all gifted by Be Naturally You).

Makeup Remover:
This silky golden oil is meant to be applied on a cotton round to wipe away makeup and impurities. Boasting an impressive array of oils and extracts, it conditions the skin as it cleanses. The scent of this oil is quite unique, and I smell the black cumin and carrot root more prominently than the other ingredients. My only minor complaint with this product is that the cotton round eats up a lot of the product, when you follow their application method. I prefer applying it on dry skin and taking it off with a hot flannel. Great product overall, and it really does remove makeup (I tested it on a friend!).
Ingredients: Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, prunus armeniaca (apricot) kernel oil, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, vitis vinifera (grape) seed oil, oenothera biennis (evening primrose) oil, nigella sativa (black cumin) seed oil, daucus carota sativa (carrot) root extract, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) flower extract, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, camellia sinensis (green tea) leaf extract, citrus medica limonum (lemon) peel extract, rosa canina (rose hip) fruit extract, urtica dioica (nettle) leaf extract, zingiber officinale (ginger) root extract, equisetum arvense (horsetail) leaf extract, arctium lappa (burdock) root extract, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil, salvia officinalis (sage) leaf extract, stellaria media (chickweed) leaf extract, trigonella foenum-graecum (fenugreek) seed extract, thymus vulgaris (thyme) leaf extract, Linalool*.*Natural constituent of essential oils.
RRP: $43.20 for 50ml
Face Tonic:
This is my favourite product from this line so far. A very gentle and cooling toner, this wipes off any remnants of your cleanser and prepares your skin for the next step. The only non oil-based product from the line, it has a honeyed scent thanks to the addition of the roman chamomile water. Highly recommend it for sensitive skin types.
Ingredients: Rosa damascena (rose) flower water, anthemis nobilis (roman chamomile) flower water, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) flower water, agave spp leaf extract, citrus paradisi (grapefruit) seed extract.
RRP: $64.80 for 200ml
Face Oil:
This is a light and nurturing face oil with a subtle rose/vanilla scent. I am amazed by how quickly it absorbs into the skin. It works well under makeup and plays well with other skincare products. It will suit most skin types, including oily and acne-prone.
Ingredients: Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba oil), Rosa rubiginosa (rose oil), Rosa damascena (rose flower extract), Oenothera biennis (evening primrose oil), Vanilla planifolia (vanilla extract), Malva sylvestris (mallow extract), Rosa canina (rose hip extract), Lavandula angustifolia (lavender oil), Rosa damascena (rose flower oil), Linalool*, geraniol*, citronellol*, limonene*. *Natural constituent of essential oils.
RRP: $66.30 for 30ml
Final Thoughts: It’s a fantastic brand that will suit most skin types. Based on the descriptions, I expected the products to be heavy, but they are all very light and luxurious. The prices are very reasonable for the quality (how often do you see 100% organic products? Most so-called organic products only contain 60-80% organic ingredients). Big thumbs up!

I have a weakness for the UK organic brands and Inlight is no exception. Does the toner come with a spritz applicator now or do you have to use a cotton pad? Xx

Most U.K. organic brands are super lovely. You need to use a cotton pad with the toner, it doesn’t come with a spritz applicator. xx

    Hey Arjun,

This is my favorite natural, green, beauty blog. What would you recommend for a nineteen year old’s cystic acne? Along with hyperpigmentation. Does it matter if I am fair-skinned?

Hi, thanks so much! I’d ask your nineteen year old to limit sugar and gluten intake and add a fish oil supplement. Earthwise Beauty’s Carrot A Day is a great product for cystic acne, in my opinion.
