Apsu Varanasi Foot Ritual Review

apsu varanasiApsu is one of the newest skincare brands on the Australian market, and I’ve been testing their Varanasi Foot Ritual for the last few weeks. I love foot products, and I think they are a great way to unwind after a busy day. These Ayurveda-inspired formulations are packed with moisturising, deodorising and anti-microbial ingredients to keep feet healthy, soft and happy. The name ‘Varanasi’ alludes to the ultimate foot rub Lord Shiva received from his consort Annapurna, queen of Varanasi. The foot ritual range includes three products: Mint and Clove Pedicure Bombs, Spicy Clay Foot Mask, and Mint and Cocoa Butter Foot Cream.

The Mint and Clove Pedicure Bombs look like tiny bath bombs. The combination of peppermint, spearmint, green tea, lavender and clove is refreshing, and it is a great way to relax and let the worries of your day melt away. The first step of the foot ritual, this helps soothe tired and aching feet. All you need to do is drop a bomb in a bowl of warm water, relax and soak feet for 3-5 minutes. Bliss!

Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Green Tea Fragrance Oil, Mentha Viridis (Spearmint) Leaf Oil, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Lavendula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Eugenia Caryophyllus (Clove) Bud Oil.

Price: A$22 for 6 x 25g bombs

Designed to be used after the Pedicure Bombs, the Spicy Foot Mask is my favourite product from the line. This is a green clay mask that’s both moisturising and detoxing (it’s surprisingly mess-free). It goes on smooth and contains exfoliating grains to slough off dead skin.  It makes my feet feel smooth and moisturised. Highly recommend this for dry, cracked feet.

Ingredients: Aqua, Acacia Decurrens Flower Wax, Isopropyl Palmitate, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Glyceryl Stearate, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Glycerin, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Clay (Green Clay), Eugenia Caryophyllus (Clove) Flower Bud Powder, Cinnamomum Cassia (Cinnamon) Bark Extract, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Powder, Benzyl Alcohol, Dehydro Acetic Acid, Sorbic Acid, Benzoic Acid.

Price: A$29.50 for 100g

The Mint and Cocoa Butter Foot Cream is rich and minty, but sinks in instantly. I like to apply it after the mask and put on a pair of socks to seal in moisture. I like to use it just before I go to bed.

Ingredients: Aqua, Cetearyl Wheat Straw Glycosides, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Hydrolyzed Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Extract, Tocopherol, Sericin, Green Tea Fragrance oil, Mentha Viridis (Spearmint) Leaf Oil,  Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil,  Lavendula Angustifolia  (Lavender) Oil, Eugenia Caryophyllus (Clove) Bud Oil, Benzyl Alcohol, Dehydro Acetic Acid, Sorbic Acid, Benzoic Acid.c Acid.

Price: A$29.50 for 100g

I really like the packaging for these products, and I find them very reasonably priced for the quality. These would make great gifts, in my opinion. Christmas is just around the corner, and these would be perfect for a friend or loved one who works on their feet all day long!
