Omorovicza Soothing Shave Cream Review

Omorovicza 2This is my first time reviewing skincare designed especially for men. The product I’m reviewing is a shave cream for men from the luxe Hungarian spa brand Omorovicza. I’ve been following Omorovicza for the last couple of years, but this is the first time I’ve actually bought one of their products. Their cult Thermal Cleansing Balm has been on my wish list for a long time, but I just can’t justify spending so much on a cleanser when there are so many others that do the job (albeit, possibly, in a less luxurious way) for a fraction of the price. I think I may be sold if I actually try it on in store and experience its opulence firsthand, but I haven’t got around to trying it at Mecca Cosmetica as yet. The Soothing Shave, fortunately, is MUCH cheaper than most Omorovicza products — in fact, at around $35 AUD it may even be their most affordable product.

Texture and Smell:

Omorovicza 3

This may be the creamiest, most luscious shaving cream I’ve ever used. The texture reminds me of whipped cream, and you can use it without a brush. I hate it when shaving creams disappear into the skin and you have to constantly wet your razor to make it glide through your skin. I have a thick stubble, and this coats it well and gives me the closest, most professional-looking shave. I also like that it doesn’t create a mess in the sink, unlike products like Kiehl’s Ultimate Brushless Shave Cream.

The smell is very camphorous, and it has a cooling effect on the skin. Although I like the smell of camphor, I feel like I’d have liked this product even more if it had less of a cooling effect. This is just a personal preference, though. I know many men like mentholated skin products, so I may be in the minority.

Highly rate this product: I think this is one of the best shave creams available. The ingredient list is great and it delivers amazing results. If you shave, do get yourself one. If you don’t, this will make a great gift for someone who does!

PS: Watch Stephen the charming and aristocratic (“a descendant of the noble Omorovicza family,” according to the company website) co-founder of Ormovicza describe the product here.

Where to Buy:

I bought this product from Cult Beauty (they ship internationally). Also available on the Omorovicza website.
