Lately, I’ve been feeling a little disoriented. I don’t really know why, but I just feel like everything around me is in a state of flux. I started a new role at work a couple of months ago, and the challenges associated with that, combined with changes in my living arrangements and friendship circles have left me feeling a little confused. Everything is new again. I am developing new connections, and while that’s great, I do miss the comfort of the familiar. View Full Post

I guess you all know by now that I love Beauty Heroes. I genuinely think that it’s the best beauty subscription service around, and it continues to wow me every month. I liked last month’s box, however, some of the products didn’t really suit my hair type, so I had my fingers crossed for this month’s box. I’m glad to report that this month’s box not only met my expectations, but far exceeded it. I love the products so much that I’d call it my favourite Beauty Heroes box so far (this is my fourth box).

This month’s box contains two products from Lilfox, a green beauty brand based in Miami . The hero product is their Jungle Glow Enzyme Cleanser + Mask and the sidekick is their newly-launched Cleopatra Restorative Milk + Honey Beauty Mask. View Full Post

I know I’m late to the party considering this box is already sold out and the next box has been announced, but better late than never, right? So here goes:

Overall Impressions: I received this February box early March, and I have been using it on and off for the last few weeks. It’s a great box, and all it’s been getting a lot of love on Instagram. I really admire the contents of this box, but unfortunately, two out of the three products in this box didn’t work for me. Even though my personal experience with this particular box has been mixed, the quality of all the products in this box are outstanding and I’d highly recommend it overall. View Full Post

I was lucky to receive the February Beauty Heroes box way back in January, and I have been bursting to tell everyone how amazing it is. A couple of days before I received the box, I had a long Skype chat with Beauty Heroes founder Jeannie Jarnot. It was inspiring to hear her talk about her beauty journey and how she founded the company at a time when the concept of green beauty subscription boxes didn’t exist. Towards the end of the conversation, when she told me that the February box was going to be sleep-themed, she asked me if I had a regular sleep routine. I don’t. Having a regular sleep routine is one of those things I struggle with. When I hesitantly told her I didn’t, she said that she hoped the Osmia Night Body Oil would help me create a nighttime ritual. I’ve been hearing about Beauty Heroes since I started my blog, and many of my friends have been long-term subscribers. The original green beauty box that started it all, the US$39 (approx.)/month subscription service introduces its subscribers to a new green beauty brand every month. These boxes normally contain one Hero Product (usually the star product from that month’s brand) and one or two sidekicks. This month’s hero brand is Maya Chia. The hero product this month is The Super Couple Astaxanthin + Chia Ultra Luxe Face Oil, and the sidekick is their Supercritical Chia Waterless Wonder Balm (these have got to be some of the longest names I’ve ever had to type out!).

As the name implies, the Maya Chia line explores the use of supercritical chia seed oil in skincare. Rich in Omega 3, chia seed oil reduces the appearance of fine lines and increases firmness of the skin, without leaving a greasy feeling behind. View Full Post
