Beauty Heroes March Discovery featuring Siam Seas:
I’d heard great things about Siam Seas from other bloggers, so I was very excited to try this month’s Beauty Heroes discovery featuring this Southeast Asian-inspired line of skincare. The box features a full size bottle of their Yen Heal and Hydrate Toner and a trial size of their Morning Delight All In One Morning Cleanser.
Let’s start with the hero: the Yen Toner (RRP $90 USD). Although called a toner, the texture of this product feels like a cross between a toner and a serum. It wouldn’t be a stretch to call it an essence. The ingredient list boasts twenty-seven botanical actives, including plant-derived beta glucan and hyaluronic acid. This toner contains cucumber hydrosol and oil; and the overall scent reminds me of a spicy floral cucumber cocktail. I don’t love the scent, but I appreciate that it has a uniquely Southeast Asian flavour that’s so different from anything else on the market.
Yen Toner has a viscous texture (for a toner), and it sinks in well. While it doesn’t leave a film behind, it does feel a little tacky to the touch once it absorbs into the skin. It, however, hasn’t clogged my pores in any way, and my skin does look visibly plumper when I use this product under my serums, oils and creams. The thing that lets this product down is its pump. The pump delivers a strong jet that slaps the face with product. I have been spraying it on my hands and patting it on instead. Dehydrated skin types will most likely love this product. The thick consistency of this toner/essence could double as a serum/moisturiser for oilier skin types.
The Morning Delight Cleanser (RRP $15 USD for the trial size), on the other hand, is a real winner for me, and I wish that was the hero product this month. Although marketed as a morning cleanser, this emulsifying oil cleanser rinses off without ANY residue, and it would work equally well as an evening cleanser to remove sunscreen and heavy makeup. It has a sweet fruity/sandalwood aroma that feels distinctively Asian, and I love using it both am and pm.
Overall, I’m really happy to discover Siam Seas via this box, and can’t wait to try more of their products in the future.

Boxwalla February/March Box featuring Mun & Amly:
Boxwalla always brings a smile to my face with the whimsical quality of their curations, and this box didn’t disappoint. Called ‘Moonlight & Silver Sleep,’ this box contains two full size products: Mun Aknari Brightening Youth Serum and Amly Beauty Sleep Silver Rich Face Mist.
Mun Aknari Brightening Youth Serum (RRP: $95 USD) has been a staple of mine for a long time, and it’s one of my favourite brightening oils. Containing just three ingredients (prickly pear, argan and rose oils), this minimalist masterpiece hydrates, brightens and nourishes the skin, without any tackiness or residue. You can read my more detailed review of this product here.
I love Amly’s original mist, and I was excited to try this Beauty Sleep version ($70) containing ingredients that support ‘natural healing sleep.’ In addition to Amly’s signature silver-rich spring water, this mist contains a long list of ingredients ranging from collagen-boosting snow algae to soporific valerian and hops.
I didn’t expect this product to have any noticeable impact on sleep, but spraying this on my face does seem to help me relax and unwind (and induce a few yawns). The powdery scent of this toner does not feel like an instant classic like the original, but I love how Amly have established themselves as the go-to brand for mists by sticking to this one category and creating intriguing iterations of their bestselling classic.
For those who are looking to get their hands on this box, it is sold out, unfortunately. However, Boxwalla have already announced their April Box featuring Twelve Beauty (it sounds AMAZING). Make sure you subscribe to Boxwalla before they sell out!
