New K-Beauty Favourite: Manyo Factory

It’s rare that I fall in love with a brand almost instantly. I’d never heard about Manyo Factory before Franki and Seoul sent me their products to try. I was experiencing a bad case of breakouts on my jaw and temples, and these products (along with Carrot-a-Day from Earthwise Beauty) completely cleared up my skin. Without further delay, here are my thoughts about this fantastic Korean brand:

Galactomy Clearskin AHA/BHA Exfoliation Toner:

Most exfoliating acid toners work well for me at the start but break me out when I use it continuously. This is the first acid toner that continues to work for me after months of use. It prevents breakouts and leaves my skin clear, bright and balanced, with no irritation whatsoever. Rich in fermented ingredients, it has one of the cleanest ingredient lists I’ve seen for an exfoliating toner. I prefer it to cult favourites like Biologique Recherché P50. For $38(AUD), it is an absolute steal and delivers much more sustainable results than P50.

Ingredients: Water, Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Water, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Lactic Acid, Zanthoxylum Piperitum Fruit Extract, Pulsatilla Koreana Extract , Usnea Barbata (Lichen) Extract, Rosa Centifolia Flower Water, Sea Water, Potassium Hydroxide, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Citric Acid, Malic Acid, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract.

Galactomyces Niacin Special Essence Treatment:

This is often referred to as a less expensive substitute for SK-II, but it is a better product, in my opinion. The ingredient list is cleaner, and unlike SK-II, which contains many petroleum-derived fillers, it only contains active ingredients – 97% Galatomyces Ferment Filtrate, 2% Niacinamide and 1% plant extracts. The texture of this product feels oilier and more glycerine-like than SK-II, but it absorbs well without leaving any residue. I find that it soothes and brightens the skin while providing deep hydration. It layers well over the toner, and it’s a fantastic budget-friendly hydrating product. Highly recommend.

Galactomyces Special Treatment Essence Cream:

I didn’t like this cream at the start because the texture and smell of this product reminded me of an unscented cold cream. I have, however, grown to like this product a lot. It’s a great moisturiser that offers fantastic skin benefits without overloading the skin. I find that it makes my skin softer and more even-toned whenever I use it. The unfussy tube packaging makes it very travel/gym-friendly, and I like having it in my routine.

Verdict: Manyo Factory may have become one of my favourite K-beauty brands of all time. The packaging doesn’t scream ‘green/clean beauty’ but it’s possibly one of the cleanest Korean brands I’ve come acrossTheir products work well for my combination, acne-prone skin type, and I’ll repurchase all three products when I run out. Love it!
