Boxwalla December “Let It Glow! Let It Glow! Let it Glow!” Beauty Box (Lina Hanson Global Face Trio, Wabi-Sabi Botanicals Budhi Sacha Inchi Eye Nectar and RMS Beauty Living Luminizer) Review

Green beauty boxes are a great way to discover new brands and products, and Boxwalla is one of the rising stars in this segment. All their curations have been receiving unanimously-positive reviews from my fellow bloggers, and I was so excited and honoured to receive a press sample of their latest curation from their founder Lavanya. Called ‘Let It Glow! Let It Glow! Let It Glow!’ the December box features three green beauty products to show you three ways to glow. Here are my impressions:

The Box:

The beauty box came beautifully packaged in a large, matte box. The Boxwalla logo reminds me of Indian rice flour line drawings called kolam. Intentional or not, I thought it was a nice touch. The contents in the box were packaged with care and wrapped in luxe-looking parchment paper.

The Contents:

Lina Hanson Global Face Trio (30ml) Value US $25:

This is my favourite product from the December Box. This three-in-one multi-tasker can be used as an exfoliant, cleanser and mask, and contains precious ingredients like thanaka, ginseng, Japanese rice bran and lemongrass. This very finely milled powder instantly brightens and purifies the skin. It works well as a cleanser and exfoliator, but I feel that it is too precious to rinse off immediately. My favourite way to use it is as a mask (that I leave on for 10-20 minutes).

Wabi-Sabi Botanicals Budhi Sacha Inchi Eye Nectar (10ml) Value US$52:

This is a very unique eye product containing antioxidant-rich coffee fruit, carotene-packed seabuckthorn berries, and high GLA content evening primrose blossom, in a sacha inchi oil base. A very light oil, this disappears instantly into the skin. One drop of the oil is enough to cover both my eyes. This means that this tiny bottle will last me a VERY long time (possibly past its expiry date). I find it very effective at reducing dark circles and puffiness. It has a very strong green coffee scent, which I find a little too invigorating for nighttime use, but apart from that, it is an amazing eye product.

RMS Beauty Living Luminizer (4.82g) Value US$38:

I don’t wear makeup, so I wasn’t sure I’d like this, but I’m very impressed by this product. RMS Beauty’s cult bestseller, this is a highlighter that gives you that ‘lit from within’ glow. I was scared this would look too shimmery/greasy on my dark, oily skin, but the ‘glow’ it imparts is very subtle and natural-looking. It just makes me look like I’ve had a good night’s sleep when I haven’t. Fantastic product overall. It contains coconut oil, so I’d recommend using it sparingly if you are very acne prone.

Final Thoughts:

This was my first green beauty box, and I’m blown away by how amazing the whole experience was. It has introduced me to some wonderful new brands, and I can’t wait to see what new brands and products their next box will contain.

The December box is still available from Boxwalla for US$49.95 (Retail Value: $115). They ship internationally.

That seems like a great deal. Larger than sample size if not full sized products for $50. Noted
