Goldfaden MD Reviews: Radical Difference, Liquid Face Lift, Bright Eyes and Vital Boost

Goldfaden MD review justaskarjun

Goldfaden MD is marketed as the world’s first dermatologist-developed natural skincare brand. Founded by dermatologist Dr. Gary Goldfaden MD, a lifetime member of the Academy of Dermatology, it is inspired by treatments developed in his South Florida dermatology practice. The line utilises state-of-of-the-art technologies with active plant cells and antioxidant-rich botanicals to provide instant results. Unlike most dermatologist brands, all products from this line are free from parabens, petrochemicals, mineral oils, alcohols, silicone and gluten. Also, they are all are tested (and, therefore, suitable) for all skin types. None of these products are tested on animals.

I received the following products from the brand for review purposes, and here are my impressions after using these for the last 1-2 months:

Radical Difference Advanced Antioxidant Serum:

This is my top pick from the line so far. This hyaluronic acid-rich serum (it’s the second ingredient after water) instantly floods skin with hydration and plumps it up. In addition to this, the antioxidant powers of organic red tea and cherry extracts creates a protective barrier to repair imperfections and reduce redness. I use this right after cleansing, and it feels like a glass of water for my skin. Unlike many other gel products, it absorbs well without leaving a glossy film behind. I like to mix it with a few drops of my favourite oil for a lit-from-within glow. Highly recommend this if you have dull, dehydrated, irritation-prone skin.

Ingredients: Purified Water (Aqua), Hyaluronic Acid, Aspalathus Linearis (Red Tea) Extract, Lactobacillus/ Acerola Cherry Ferment, Saccharomyces Zinc Ferment, Saccharomyces Magnesium Ferment, Saccharomyces Iron Ferment, Saccharomyces Silicon Ferment, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin

Liquid Face Lift Instant Skin Tightening Complex:

This product wowed me by providing instant, almost-unbelievable results. This contains magnesium aluminum silicate, seaweed extract and hyaluronic acid to reduce the appearance of fine lines and loose skin. What provides immediate crease relief and firmness for a non-surgical quick fix is the addition of the peptide acetyl hexapeptide-3 (which mimics the effects of Botox). In terms of texture, its velvety consistency resembles a silicone product (it is, however, silicone free). It would work well under makeup.

Ingredients: Distilled Water, Sodium Silicate, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Seaweed Extract, Hyaluronic Acid, Acetyl-Hexapeptide 3, Phenoxyethanol, Exthylhexylglycerin, Iron Dioxide, Red Tea Extract.

Bright Eyes Dark Circle Radiance Concentrate:

A rich eye cream, this concentrate moisturises, cools, de-puffs and brightens the under-eye area. Personally, I found this too rich for my combination skin type. You’ll love this, if you have dry skin with visible signs of ageing. This is one of their bestsellers.

Ingredients: Distilled Water, Hyaluronic Acid, Seaweed Extract, Oxido Reductases, Soy Peptide, Hydrolyzed Rice Bran Extract, Jojoba oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Squalene, Pulverized Mica, Arnica Tincture, Vitamin K1 (Phytonadione), Laureth-7, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Polyacrylamide, Phenoethanol, Ethylglycerin, Oil of Grapefruit, Red Tea Extract.

Vital Boost Even Skintone Daily Moisturiser:

This is the product that most surprised me because I generally don’t use or like creams. Most creams, in my experience, contain unnecessary fillers and thickeners that break me out. This surprised me by being both moisturising and brightening without causing any irritation or breakouts. I like to use this on top of serums and oils, and I did notice an increase in brightness, when used daily. It contains gooseberry extract to brighten the skin and Vitamin D to boost immunity. It has a subtle grapefruit smell that I like. Highly recommend, if you are looking for a multitasking everyday moisturiser.

Ingredients: Purified Water (Aqua), Squalane, Hyaluronic Acid, Glycerin, Polyacrylate-13, Polyisobutene, Polysorbate 20, Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3), Emblica Officinalis (Amla) Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Oil of Grapefruit

Final Thoughts:

This line is a fantastic option if you have always used ‘active’ skincare (think Dr. Dennis Gross, Dr. Perricone, Dr. Brandt and Peter Thomas Roth), but have turned ‘green’ and want to switch to cleaner alternatives. All the products I’ve tried so far deliver instant results without containing the questionable ingredients I try to avoid. The prices, in my opinion, are very reasonable for the quality you get.
